You may have the best designer outfit and the most beautiful shoes planned for that special evening out, but one item can make or break your entire appearance. Yes, we are talking about handbags here. Handbags are today the staple in any wardrobe for it is the perfect tool to pull the rest of your apparel together. Realizing this need designers have come out with chic handbags that cost four-figure prices on an average.

Handbags come in various colors and styles. You can pick from a variety of wild colors, and exotic or metallic finished leathers or other materials. Styles may vary from shoulder styles, clutches, slings and large totes. Size and function will vary also.

Designer handbags also come in other varied makes. Buckles have been the rage for a couple of years now, and they still rule the roost. You can even have gold or silver buckles replacing the regular ones. A number of embellishments in precious or semi precious stones can raise the price of the handbag from four to five figures.

A very popular kind of handbag is the clutch. It goes with your regular jeans and t-shirt combo or even that little black dress. Designer clutches can be diamond encrusted or made of satin for that extra lux feeling.

Shoulder strap bags can be of various sizes and shapes. The strap itself may be inlaid with crystals or diamantes or be made of a gold or silver chain. There can also be fabric-made straps in denim, canvas, suede, satin or cotton, or they may be made of leather.

Less is more. A garment bag that proves the simplest design solutions are often the most functional and elegant. Garments on hangers are secured into the unfolded sleeve by double D ring hardware and cinched by a nylon webbing strap. The bag then folds in half, zips on three sides and is carried compactly by two rolled leather handles. The perfect bag for an overnight business trip is that doubles up as a style accessory too.

Nothing says first-class style as beautifully as leather. Leather handbags are more expensive, and more difficult to maintain. The hottest ones are made of snakeskin or crocodile leather, besides the usual stuff. Soft leather bags are wonderful to carry but they also get ungainly creases. Hard leather usually holds up better, and can retain their shape to perfection over time.

Throw a light weight backpack in an interesting hue for a trip to the beach, sports events, or just running around town and you would have instantly turned yourself from plain to a head turner.

Several high end designer handbags come in interchangeable forms while still maintaining a class of their own. A handbag may transform into a clutch in a matter of seconds and still scream high fashion.

And if you know style but do not want to compromise on quality invest in getting a designer handbag expert to help you shop with ease. This will of course come with a price of its own, but for a handbag lover price is hardly the important issue to discuss.
