High-end music systems are hot, and everyone seems to have one of them. Jet set music systems refer to an audio system that manufacturers and those who have used claim is the best, irrespective of price. It can imply the quality of the components of the system but is more correctly a measure of the recording’s likeness to the original source. A typical high-end music system will therefore make you feel as if you are present at the live performance instead of a mere playback recording.

Jet-set music systems are incredibly expensive but price is seldom a constraint for an audiophile or those with millions in the bank. To maximize this, manufacturers often produce jet set music systems that are more looks than performance-oriented. For instance, a typical high end valve amplifier may have exposed vacuum tubes catering to consumers who like the look of glowing tubes, but this invariably affects quality and performance of the system.

In the high-end music sector LPs reigned from the mid of the fifties’ decade, and were only inferior to the original tapes from which they were taken. When Compact Discs were introduced they in 1980 they still did not match the sonic quality of LPs. But with advanced digital playback CDs replaced LPs as high end music systems and are now being replaced by DVDs.

However DVDs do not make for extremely high end music players because of a number of constraints. Its compression algorithm is difficult to improve upon by the MP2 software. Besides, in spite of its huge storage capacities audio is mainly restricted to one track so the benefit is not very significant. But more importantly DVDs are meant primarily for video reproduction, and therefore audio quality is compromised upon.

To balance this high end music can now be heard on audio PCs, which are seen as the future of high-end music systems. The benefits of using this jet set system are many. You can get original digital files before they are edited to make average sounding CDs. Downloading music directly from the internet is a huge point is its favor. Besides you can listen to the music and only then decide if you want to buy it. It uses MPEG3 compression, which is the universal audio compression standard and therefore you do not have to compromise on quality.

High end music may be the sole privilege of a few now, but music is fundamental to the human existence, and as an adjunct to music high end audio is absolutely essential. Consumers have woken up to the fact that the quality of audio has improved over the years and therefore the market for jet-set audio equipment is set to grow beyond the reach of a privilege few only.

Besides who can resist the feeling created by a high-end audio system? You perceive the quality of recording to be superior the moment you know you are listening to jet-set music. Although subjective, the responses to this are one of the main reasons why high-end music is taking over.
