Status Brands

Status Brands

Anyone can live like the rich and famous do by sporting the brands that are popular among the world’s most wealthy people.  Status brands may change over time, accounting for fads.  However, most status symbols have been popular with the luxury crowd for years making them full-blown status symbols.  In case you’re tempted, don’t go for the fakes.  They can be spotted a mile away and you’ll be found out as a fraud.  Instead, save and spend on the best you can afford.

The designer bag is a necessity for those women wishing to exude wealth.  The most popular brands are quite expensive.  However, today’s bags no longer match your shoes.  This is good news for those who can only afford to purchase one designer bag.  Among the most popular brands are Coach, Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Hermes.  Think about a neutral color and style that will last for years.

Sunglasses are seen even before someone sees your actual face.  There are certain brands that are popular among celebrities and the wealthy.  If you’re going to invest in a pair make sure to get frames in a neutral color such as black or brown.  If you want to show your chic appeal opt for a pair of Revo, Maui Jim, Oakley or Bolle sunglasses.

Designer jewelry is often the giveaway of true affluence. If you want to look affluent choose a piece of jewelry by a status jeweler.  If you can’t afford more than one piece, choose a necklace.  This is the most versatile and the most noticed by others.  Pick a style that complements your wardrobe so that it can be worn almost every day.  Make it your signature piece.  Status jewelers to try are Cartier, Tiffany and Harry Winston.

The car you drive says a lot about your income status.  The wealthy drive luxurious cars and often own several.  If you can’t afford the luxury auto of your dreams you can at least pretend.  Test drive one of your favorite autos and set your goals on getting one.  Or, rent your fav vehicle for a weekend. Specialty auto rentals have luxury vehicles just for people like you.  What make vehicles are popular with the rich and famous?  Think Lamborghini, Porsche or Ferrari.  If those are still too expensive try a Corvette convertible.

Shopping at the mall can become humdrum.  If you want to rub elbows with the rich and famous try shopping at the places they do.  You can make a small purchase or just window shop.  Some of the hot spots are Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Harrods.

When traveling, try staying at a five star hotel just like the rich and famous do.  If you can’t afford the normal room rate look for discounts and special package deals.  When you are in the lobby nobody will know you’re not staying in the penthouse suite.  Stay where the stars do.  Try booking a night at the Ritz Carlton, the St. Regis, the Hilton or the Peninsula.
