Top 5 Splurges Of The Rich And Famous

Top 5 Splurges Of The Rich And Famous

Living the life of the rich and famous is all about splurging on yourself and your family. Extravagance comes with a price tag but if you can afford it, go for it! Here are the top 5 splurges of the rich and famous and how you can get them too.

The Luxury Vacation

While the working class vacations at the Holiday Inn, the upper crust takes vacations to the next level.  Starting with first class travel, they always pay extra for any travel amenities, including first class cabin seating.  A limo ride to the 5 star hotel is next.  The hotel itself is exquisite, and they undoubtedly have a suite or entire floor to themselves. Then, spend time at the pool, the spa and the restaurant.

You can take a similar vacation for less.  First, decide on your destination.  Then, shop around for the best package deals you can at the best hotels.  You may not be staying in the suite but you can stay at the same hotel.  Travel during the non-peak times.  Use travel miles to upgrade your flight to first class.  Budget your money to eat only one meal per day at the hotel restaurant.

The Designer Clothes

What celebrity doesn’t like to wear designer clothing and accessories?  They love to wear original clothes and of course they require a new wardrobe each season.  Because they attend so many public events and functions they need a huge array of unique gowns and dresses that only get worn once or twice.  They have lots of designer handbags and shoes to choose from in their closets as well.

You, too, can look like a million even if you don’t have it.  Shop at outlet stores and vintage shops.  Look for pieces that are timeless and can work with many options.  A simple yet elegant cashmere cardigan can have multiple uses and can dress up any outfit.  Purchase just a couple of items each season to update your look.  Splurge for one designer handbag that you can carry year round. The key is to look classy – think Audrey Hepburn or Jackie Onassis.

The Lavish Automobile

The rich love their cars.  They usually have several, in different colors and styles to match their mood.  They replace their cars each year with the newest model with the latest features and gadgets.

The average person can’t afford a new car each year and a price tag over $30,000 is not available to you.  You can try living like the rich for just a weekend. Exotic car rental shops are in most major cities.  Here you can rent the car of your dreams, even if it is only for the weekend.

The Expensive Meals

The rich and famous eat out at the most expensive restaurants.  They like to be seen at great trendy restaurants and meet with other celebs over lavish meals and drinks.

You don’t need to be a celebrity to dine at the most trendy restaurant in the city.  Make reservations well in advance and plan the evening well.  Know the menu ahead of time so you can avoid the most expensive items. The specials of the day are often priced affordably.  If you can’t afford a whole dinner, go for appetizers and cocktails.  Just sidling up to the bar next to rich and famous people will make you feel like a million.

The Spa Treatments

The rich and famous are notorious for their pampered lifestyle.  The spa is the trendy way to relax and de-stress.  There are spa retreats or day spas. No matter where they go, they love to take in a massage or facial at the spa.

You, too, can pamper yourself with a spa treatment.  While you may not be able to afford a whole day at the spa consider individual treatments.  For instance, a facial is often quite affordable yet you are still pampered like crazy for the hour you are there.  Try a new treatment every time you go.
