What You Need To Live Like The Rich And Famous

What You Need To Live Like The Rich And Famous

In order to be considered rich in today’s standards you will need to own a $4million mansion, a $1million vacation home, two cars worth at least $140,000 as well as other seemingly extravagant items.  People in this category usually take at least two long vacations per year and may take various shorter trips or weekend getaways.

Living the rich and famous lifestyle includes private school for your children as well as tutors and nannies. Having at least two or three staff is also expected, with one being a chef or cook.  Of course, dining out is standard, going to the most posh restaurants and hob knobbing with others of your stature.

Many of the rich and famous have tons of other amenities. Many have their own private yacht and jet.  Almost all have two homes, a winter home and a summer home.  Of course, the homes are fully appointed with full entertainment and film screening rooms, music rooms and complete workout facilities.  These must continually be updated with the latest and greatest technology.

Of course the family must have a wardrobe to support all the travel and dining out that is done.  Clothing is, of course, designer, with huge price tags.  Depending on the social events, many different evening gowns and shoes are needed.  And don’t forget preparing for events.  Weekly trips to the salon are normal with some people hiring a hairdresser or makeup artist to visit the home.

Pets are an ever-popular accessory for the rich and famous.  Keeping fido in dog food and pet amenities can be expensive as well. And of course grooming is necessary as is pet sitting services while away.

De-stressing doesn’t come cheaply.  A weekly trip to the local spa for various treatments is the norm, with monthly mini spa vacations to pamper every member of the family is almost a requirement.

A pool is a necessity and must be kept up along with the landscaping.  A full time gardener or pool keeper is almost standard.  Celebrities also require security staff and public relations people to ensure their safekeeping and to make sure they get good press.  They also need an investment advisor and accountant.

For those who are living the posh existence, this list is already being lived out.  For the rest of us it’s a dream life to ponder in our fantasies.  Here is a list of what you need and how much it will cost to keep up with the elite.

  • Multi-room home with pool - $4,000,000
  • Vacation home - $2,000,000
  • Luxury yacht - $1,000,000
  • Porsche - $80,000
  • Jaguar - $60,000
  • Dining Out (per years) - $50,000
  • Vacations - $120,000
  • Wait Staff - $100,000
  • Private School Tuition - $20,000
  • Security - $25,000
  • Clothing and Jewelry - $300,000
  • Assorted Other Expenses - $100,000
  • Home Upkeep Expenses - $75,000

This lifestyle takes an initial investment of over 5 million dollars with an annual upkeep of over 1 million and growing.  Of course, at this level you still aren’t content with what you have, wanting more and needing to keep up with others in your social circle.  Everyone, it seems, wants more than what they have.
